Where the name comes from
A porch, not a private office.
Stoa Poikile — the “painted porch” — was a public colonnade in the Athens marketplace, open to anyone walking through. Zeno taught there because it was open, not exclusive — and the people who stopped, listened, and stayed became the first Stoics.
That’s the idea behind our name: we’re not chasing anyone. We’re building somewhere worth stopping for.
